We created our What do you fear? star words to build on the contemporary tradition of passing out intention words on Epiphany inspired by the magi following a star to Jesus. This prayer practice invites worshipers to draw a star word and meditate on it throughout the new year, using it as a tool to trust in God’s guidances and presence.
We’ve included 180 star words formatted to print, cut apart, and distribute to your congregation. The accompanying liturgy can be used to incorporate the tradition of star words into either Holy Communion or the prayer of the people.
