This liturgy aims to acknowledge the injustice present in the world, particularly referencing Herod's persecution in the Gospel of Matthew, while also allowing congregations to linger in the joy of Christmas. Designed to take place around tables, it weaves together food, fellowship, and justice-oriented conversations. Three options are provided for a congregational response rooted in acts of justice and love, requiring pre-planning:
Watching the spoken word video "Is Justice Worth It" by Micah Bournes.
Assembling car care bags for unhoused neighbors.
Hosting a diaper and/or baby book drive.
Liturgy by Rev. Sarah Speed.
