Those Who Dream Longest Night Liturgy (featuring The Many)

Known also as “Blue Christmas,” a Longest Night Gathering is a safe and sacred space to mourn the losses and griefs of the year, to let the tears flow for the hurting places in our own lives, as well as for our country and our world. This full order of worship was crafted by Lenora & Gary Rand of Plural Guild and includes lots of original music by The Many, as well as a collection of sheet music for the suggested songs. This liturgy features the song The Many wrote for our Advent theme, Those Who Dream. You can download a recording of the Those Who Dream Song here.
The service provides an option for worshipers to write prayers of lament on pieces of cloth and then rend them to form a beautiful “rag wreath” of laments and also includes adaptation ideas for socially distanced and/or online worship.
