“Jesus cries for Lazarus. This year, I have repeatedly found God crying in my sketches. Here, I finalized this image with the awareness that God cries not only for his friend Lazarus, but for all of us. This year, as divisions have seemed to become gulfs, and fear has been more prevalent than love, I have felt the tears of God falling.”
