While our liturgical calendar is ordered by sacred seasons, it is also sprinkled with special days—days set apart for celebration, honor, awe, unity, and justice. That’s why we’ve crafted our first-ever Special Sundays collection with liturgy, art, and poetry for five special days throughout the year. These worship resources are intended to be meaningful, low-prep materials for you to add creativity and depth to each service. This collection contains liturgies that can be used for special days between April–November, though many of them can be used or adapted for several days throughout the year. As you move through the seasons, may these resources help you bring beauty to these sacred, holy days.
Please note: This collection includes brand new liturgy for each Special Sunday. Each package also contains art and poems curated from our vast library of resources (that were originally published for other seasons). Because art is expansive, we believe it is powerful to use these images and poems in new contexts and seasons. Additionally, our licensing terms are for one-time use, so even if you’ve purchased any of these images or poems in the past, we ask that you purchase them again to renew your license.

2. Pentecost Sunday Liturgy Package
(Individual Price: $35)
If we are willing to be amazed, Pentecost is one of the most awe-inspiring days in our Christian calendar. If we are willing to be transformed, it is an opportunity to be renewed in energy and faithfulness toward the work of God’s kin-dom on earth when all people will experience true liberation and boundless love. This service for Pentecost Sunday centers the story of the Holy Spirit descending to the gathered crowd as told in Acts 2:1-21.
The package features:
Liturgy: written by Rev. Adrian White (guest writer)
Art: “Sacrament” by Rev. Anna Strickland
Poem: “A Blessing for the Seekers” by Rev. Sarah Speed
Customizable graphic: for “Pentecost Sunday”

The 8th Sunday after Easter (end of May or early June).
3. Pride/Imago Dei Sunday Liturgy Package
(Individual Price: $35)
Both Pride and worship are acts of celebration and protest, acts of remembrance, and enactments of a world where all belong. We practice these acts in a world where the safety and rights of LGBTQIA+ people are threatened each day. On Pride Sunday—or Imago Dei Sunday—we cry out for justice and rejoice in the beauty of our embodied selves.
The package features:
Liturgy: co-written by members of More Light Presbyterians (Rev. Claudia Aguilar Rubalcava, Avery Arden, Rev. Brooke Scott, and Matt Webb)

Poem: “The Bravest Thing We Can Do” by Rev. Sarah Speed
Customizable graphics: for “Pride Sunday” and “Imago Dei Sunday”
When to celebrate:
Pride month (June), or LGBTQIA History Month (October), or National Coming Out Day (October 11th), or Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20th).
4. World Communion Sunday liturgy package
(Individual Price: $35)
World Communion Sunday is a celebratory day that invites us to think beyond the walls of our own congregation. On this day, people around the world celebrate Communion as an act of radical unity. While we gather at our own Table to celebrate Christ’s joyful feast, we also remember, with fondness, our siblings in faith celebrating this same meal around the world.
The package features:
Liturgy: written by Rev. Sarah A. Speed

Poem: “Pocket-Sized Moments” by Rev. Sarah Speed

The package features:
Liturgy: written by Rev. Anna Strickland
Art: “Yearning” by Hannah Garrity
Poem: “Where I Saw God Last” by Rev. Sarah Speed
